The Brian Griffin-designed SCHF42 was heralded as one of the best survival knives around, but the Schrade SCHF42D offers some welcomed changes to the fixed blade.
For those who feel that sharpening a recurved blade is nothing but a pain, this iteration of the knife has a straight (non-recurved) edge 5.12-inch 1095 carbon steel blade. The black-coated blade features jimping for more controlled cuts and a versatile drop point blade.
Unlike the SCHF42, the SCHF42D boasts a brown handle made from Grivory, which is a lightweight yet extremely durable material. It also comes with a brown premium leather belt sheath.
